Hi Sammy
Welcome to the forum.
Yes it's certainly possible to purchase black blushing angels in the UK, but they're not that common.
I had a batch a while back where some of the offspring were black blushers, but I don't have any available at the moment. I have kept some of them however, with a view to breeding some more at some point in the future.

Hi sammyj,

You could post a WANTED in this section of the forum: http://www.uk-angelfishforum.org.uk/f17-angelfish-for-sale-or-swap

If you know what fish you want (and it sounds like you do) then it will be worth the wait when you eventually get them. I waited months to find some fantastic Bulgarian Green angels, in the meantime, I'd set up a tank, added some neons a couple of catfish and one angel which I liked the look of. I'll move the neons on later, but to press, they're not doing any harm nor have come to any harm.

A 240 gallon tank? I wonder if you mean 240lts?
For a good display of adults, try an aquarium with a good depth of water 15" and above (18" - 24" better) -  just don't have it too deep in case you lean over too much and fall in  Smile

A 240lts tank would typically be 48" x 18" x 18" and as just a general rule of thumb, it would theoretically support 72" of slender angelfish (measure from nose to start of their tail, in other words don't include their tail fins). That could be:

  • 144 x half inch fish.

  • 72 x one inch fish.

  • 36 x two inch fish.

  • 18 x four inch fish... and so on and so fourth.

If you only have one tank, you have to take into account the adult size of the angelfish allowing them room to grow. How big do they grow? well, look at the palm of your hand, that's about 5" - 6" - so fully grown about 12 adult angelfish (if they all get on with each other)!

Didn't see your other post here: http://www.uk-angelfishforum.org.uk/t768-angels-for-new-community-tank#5082
