Three Photos, One fish

Post  Pterophyllum on Fri 07 Feb 2014, 23:15

Who say's a camera never lies?
Other than resizing I haven't tampered with these photos at all, the difference is down to the exposure settings.
That said, I'm still really pleased with the way this one's developing....

First off, how I wish it looked in the flesh....

looking more lifelike......

Finally, on my monitor at least, this is pretty true to life....

I'm keeping him (I'm fairly sure it's a male) as a future breeder, hopefully in time I'll have lots more like him.

Good looking fish Rob, very good orange coverage; it's certainly worth using as a breeder with the hope of getting even better coverage/intensity. Did you keep any siblings or have you some good coverage koi from elsewhere?

That's the fish with the best coverage, but I've kept several of the siblings, some of which have more intense colour, but not as widely distributed.
I have a number of other potential breeders from several batches some of whom are are half siblings to this fish, some who are less closely related, so I'm hoping that one or more pairings will give me the necessary fish to move this project on.

Superb fish Rob. Was going to say sorry its a female but on closer investigation it is definitely a male.
Love to see the out come of the offspring. In time to come I'm sure they will be red or orange all over.
