How to get RO water into tank

Post  french47 on Sun 28 Apr 2013, 16:31

Has anyone got an idea how I can get my RO water into my tank without lifting the container.
At the moment my LFS puts the 25 ltr containers in my car, when I get home I have to decant into 10 ltr containers as I cannot lift the 25 ltrs.
Is there a small pump on the market that has a head or 2 metres, hand or battery that I could use.
Cheers a very old man.

Could you not just take the 10 litre containers to your LFS and get them to fill those instead?
You could buy a small pond pump, there are plenty available in the £20 - £30 range, but you would need to either put it into the container (and I'm assuming a jerry can would have too small a hole) or feed a hose in and prime it before the pump would be able to pump the water out.

Blessed are the cheesemakers!

Hi French & welcome to the forum,
I don't know if you have seen the water changers that are sold by reeffloat, but one of those would do the trick if you don't mind spending a few pound to buy one & they come in different sizes & are able to do a water change for you if you are out,but you would still have to fill it with your water first & empty it after.
