Get some more air in the tank if needed, check your temperature & water test results. We also need a little more info as to when this started etc.

Temp and water are good. ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate < 5. Temp 80

He was in with some other angels and one of them was picking on him so i removed him and put him by himself.

This breathing just started today.

Sounds as though the angels immunity has dropped due to stress leaving him open to bacterial infection, make sure there is a air stone in his tank and see if you have any fish meds sutable for bacterial infections.

What type of meds? I have maracyn one & two, Kanaples, Metrondizole, maracyn plus.

Would his breathing go down now that he is alone?

Sometimes heavy breathing can be a reaction to stress.

A good way to stress a fish is allow another to bully it, chase it around it's tank with a net, put it in a bag, and then move it to strange tank. Personally I would just make sure that it has plenty of cover to hide behind, plants, rocks, etc. and give it a day or two to settle down before rushing in with the medications.

I just noticed tonight that his breathing has become much more calm. I have removed the two bullies and placed them into their own tank with a divider.

I have lots of plants and it did not help. It was a constant chasing. He seems to be much better.

I did not add any meds.
