Very Pinoying

Post  Pterophyllum on Mon 26 Mar 2012, 00:16

These Pinoys are about 6 months old, and I'm really pleased with them, but getting a decent shot of them is very, very difficult.
Firstly they refuse to swim where the flash is aimed at.
Secondly, they refuse to show off their fins when the camera is pointed at them.
Thirdly, when the do swim into range with fins splayed, someone else swims in front
Fourthly, exposure is usually way off and far too dark.
Finally, even when I do manage a half decent shot, the colours are often less than accurate.

None the less I managed to get a couple this evening...

They are all smokey pinoy ghosts but some are D/+ and others are D/g, the latter are much darker, in general D/+ fish show more blue, but IMO both types are beautiful...

First a D/+ - S/+ - Sm/+ - pb/pb

next a couple of D/g - S/+ - Sm/+ - pb/pb

The first three photos of the "light pinoy" are all of the same fish, the first is probably truest to life colour.
Of the dark pinoys, photos 4 and 6 are closest to life colour.

The D/g are so much darker than the D/+, so much so, that I can't see the smokey pattern. I hope my pinoy ghosts grow up to be like yours, they are gorgeous. Great pics again too.

Firstly Very Happy , well done on the images, I know how difficult it is to get decent shots showing acurate colours on any type of Black especialy Pinoy! Very nice images Very Happy
Secondly Very Happy , stunning Pinoys, I especialy like seeing the difference that the gold gene makes to the expression of blacks & pb/pb.
Very nice, Lisa Very Happy

Thanks for the comments everyone, pleased 'though I am with the photos, they don't show these fish at their best!, one day I'll get a shot with fins spread wide Smile

that was my main reason for posting these photos.
