Thanks Kim, for some reason the photo has been chopped a bit compared to the original and my fish has had his nose cut off!

Move it where you want Lisa,
I didn't know if it was best in here because they were photo's or in the wild section because they were Altums!
Right, see if they come full size with thumbnails.

The photo's are full size if you click on each one individually, but just looking at them, they aren't.
You see the thumbnail photo has the full photo but the bigger image further up the page has his nose chopped off (or is it my settings that need adjusting?!)

Oh very nice indeed! Certainly worth the delay. Very Happy They look very happy in there! What size is the tank? Are they alone in there?

Have you ever seen or been to the Green Machine in Wrexham? They have the most amazing Altume display. Shocked I could spend days watching.

It's your monitor size/resolution. When the forum is constricted width-ways it gets narrower until it chops the sides off images in threads. study

Ah, I see. So when I post pics and they looked chopped on my mobile, they're actually okay for most other members?

Re: Chili's Altums take 2!

Thanks for the compliments, i have adjusted and now they look fine!
The Altums are on their own apart from a baby King Tiger Plec (L066) and a baby Chocolate Zebra Plec (L270).
I lost one the other week but the other 5 are doing great now, i expected more losses as these are notorious for their death rate when imported. Luckily these went to a good supplier who looked after them properly until they were fit enough to be moved again (in my tank).
Mortality rates are sometimes 80% when imported because they aren't given the proper treatment that the Discus get but this is slowly changing for the better.
Mine are only small still, they are about 4-5 months old (i've had this batch for 3 months) and the biggest is only about 6 inches from top to bottom fins so they have lots of growing to do yet.
I have had the usual 'melting' dorsal fin that almost all Altums get when imported but they are looking much better now, the temperature is usually between 83-84 because like the Discus, they appreciate the warmer water more than domestic Scalares and my ph is between 6.5-6.8 with no treatments so they are happy.
